easy breakfast recipes

Bubble Loaf

two loaves partially frozen bread dough
1/2 cup sugar
two teaspoons cinnamon
one package butterscotch pudding
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter

Mix together the sugar & cinnamon in a small bowl & set aside. Mix together the butterscotch pudding & brown sugar & set aside. Cut each loaf in to two pieces. Cut two pieces lengthwise again. Cut each strip in to small pieces. Roll each piece in to the sugar & cinnamon mixture. Pile (toss, throw - this is where it can get fun) all of these pieces in to a well-greased bundt or solid tube pan. After all pieces are in the pan, take the butterscotch pudding & brown sugar mixture & sprinkle it over the bread dough pieces. Melt the butter & drizzle over the bread dough, pudding, & sugar mixture. Cover the pan with wax paper & a towel & let rise for one 1/2 hours. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Permit to icy for some time, turn over pan, & shake the bread out.

For making this in to a faster breakfast recipe: In case you don't need to must wait for it to rise, substitute three cans of buttermilk biscuits (ten to a can) for the bread dough. You'll also need to increase the cooking time to 30 to 35 minutes.

Children can have fun helping with this breakfast recipe. Even small ones can have fun rolling the pieces in the cinnamon & sugar & tossing them in to the pan. Hopefully most of them will hit the pan! You can also make it in to a race; who can roll the most pieces. & for small ones learning to count, you can make it a learning experience by counting the number of pieces you put in to the pan.
